Toppings and creativity are unlimited! You choose the types of decoration and tasty bits you'd like to add to your creation. I'll just name A few things I used when I made mines.

You can also find green mint chips, butterscotch, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, some with heath candy bar crumbs, and more.
Prepare Your Strawberries To Be Dipped:
Place all the bowls and utensils you need on the counter. Use A different bowl for every flavor of candy chips you plan to use. You also need bowls for the toppings you will use for decorations.
Clean your strawberries with water and let them dry completely.If your strawberries are not fully dry chances are they might get ruined.
I rinsed off my strawberries and placed them on A bakers rack to dry by the window.
I placed bamboo skewers in my strawberries because I wanted to make A Surprise Strawberry Bouquet
Recipe for Covered Strawberries:
Place A piece of foil or wax paper on A flat surface to lay your wet dipped strawberries on to dry. The foil or wax parper will keep them from sticking once they are dry.
Measure out 1 cup of chocolate chips (any flavor) and pour into A bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon of shortening to every bowl of chocolate chips.
Microwave each bowl of chips for about 2 minutes.
Check and stir every 20 - 30 seconds so the chocolate doesn't burn or get lumps.
Dip & Decorate Dipped Strawberries:
Decorate with any flavors you like. Get creative and watch out cause things can get A bit messy too!
Dip your strawberry in the chocolate and swirl it around to get an even coat.
Be sure to let your dipped berries dry first if you plan to double dip them into another flavor.
Add your toppings onto your wet chocolate dipped berries.
You can place toppings on them by holding the berry over the topping bowl and spinkling with your fingers.
Lay your dipped berries on the foil to dry. That's the way you make chocolate covered strawberries.
